Entertaining and educational excursion ˝Experience Zagorje region˝ … If you visit the Trakošćan castle you´ll see all the luxury of the life in a castle during the past centuries. However, you can see a lot more. In Bednja region, arround Trakošćan, you can also experience what the life of subjects of aristocracy was like. Entertaining and educational excursion ˝Experience Zagorje region˝ gives you the opportunity to continue the story of Trakošćan in a different way. It offers you a chance to experience Zagorje region where people were never rich but they were always in a good mood. It is a poor region and it can’t offer a lot in a material sense but it can offer something this region has been known for centuries: a feeling of being welcome. The excursion is actually a package tour of four vineyard cottages whose main ace is something they are well known for- great atmosphere. That’s why, besides the tourist guide, the group is being accompanied by the native musicians who play traditional instruments- violins and contrabass. The excursion lasts for 5 hours. It takes you to hills which surround the Bednja valley and it tells you the story of Trakošćan aristocracy, of exceptional beauty of Bednja region, of cultural heritage and sights in the area, of a specific Bednja dialect and music, of churches and legends. Departure point for minivans is Trakošćan. In the first vineyard cottage guests will be offered with plum- brandy, zagorski štrukli (home made cheese specialty), home made cakes and they will be able to have a look at family ethnographic collection. In the second vineyard cottage a meat menu will be served and, as an extra option, we can arrange a home made specialty menu- turkey (free- range) with mlinci. The free- range turkey is also a local brand. In the third vineyard cottage the accent is on a home made cheese products and in the fourth again on the meat products. In every vineyard cottage you can drink unlimited quantities of wine and at the same time you will enjoy in traditional music played by the local musicians. The excursion finishes where it all started- in Trakošćan. At the end of the package tour guests are asked a very simple question: Did you or did you not experience Zagorje region?
